Our aim is to learn from the experience of neighbouring countries regarding the implementation and funding of public private infrastructure projects, and to further develop the PPP strategy for North Rhine-Westphalia. Over the last few years the Task Force based in the Finance Ministry has accumulated a vast amount of experience and PPP know-how by initiating and accompanying pilot projects. It advises local councils on the development and implementation of PPP models. The experience gained has been published in a number of guidelines. An ever strengthening competency network between NRW, the other States, the Federal government and the private sector has had a significant impact on the successful development of PPP in Germany.
